We do not have precise data on the beginnings of stove fitter in Poland. Traces of pottery products in prehistoric excavations in Poland indicate this, that tiling arose from the pottery craft and was closely related to it.
The stove fitting guild officially exists only from. 1347, initially as a pottery brotherhood, whose statutes consisting of 38 points are left only after 300 over the years in 1639 r. approved by King Jan III, and then by King August II in 1717 r.
Although the statutes were supposedly written for the potter's brotherhood, however, it was apparent from its content, that. it was also in force and stove fitting. For example. in point 3 we read of this statute:
“The item should be presented by the art of this pottery in the fraternity … then the stove should be done with the most beautiful art without art, it is without breaking any love, what if they did show these arts should PP. To treat the brothers from the Elderly appointed according to their discretion ".
Chest (so-called. „lada”) the stove-fitting guild for storing guild documents from the 15th century.
The dignity and traditions of the stove stove guild are evidenced by those still preserved in some of the guilds, in addition to the original statutes signed by the kings, the so-called "lady". These were chests for storing various valuables with the guild registrar, solemnly opened at meetings in the presence of members of the Brotherhood by the Elder of the Guild.
Until the end of the nineteenth century, stove fitting in Poland remains at a standstill and still does not arouse interest in housing construction. Along with the stove stove, the necessary materials are neglected, fittings and all accessories for kitchen ranges and dwelling stoves.
